I couldn't find a reference for TestComplete support for Cobol objects. I know that it supports Cobol .Net, but how about plain old rusty Cobol?
Re: Does TestComplete 8 support Cobol applications?
TestComplete can test Cobol applications in black-box mode. If controls used in Cobol applications support the IAccessible interface, you should also be able to make TestComplete recognize more controls by using the MSAA Open Applications plug-in. For more information, please refer to the 'Using Microsoft Active Accessibility' help topic. To enable the MSAA support, please follow the steps below:
1. Make sure that the MSAA plug-in is installed in TestComplete. You can check this in the 'Install Extensions' dialog invoked by selecting 'File | Install Extension...' from the main menu.
2. Open your TestComplete project.
3. Open the Project Properties editor (right-click your project in the Project Explorer panel and select the 'Edit | Properties' context menu item).
4. Select the 'Open Applications | MSAA' item and enable the '*' item in the List of accepted windows panel.
