Just wondering if anyone can help me. I've been having problems with TC and its memory usage. Right now I'm not running any scripts I just have my Project Suite open and I'm working on different projects. If I look at the task manager (under processes) there are 3 Automated QA processes running.
1- tcHostingProcess.exe which is taking 5968K
2- tcrea.exe which is taking 2484K
3- TestComplete.ext which is taking 928340K
Is it normal for it to be taking so much of the memory? Is there a way to reduce the memory usage? Right now, I don't consider my Suite to be that big. It is going to get a lot bigger as I continue developing scripts for the tested application.
The memory usage greatly depends on the actions you perform when working with your projects. Not all 900 M of memory are used to store your project suite data - the most part of this memory is likely to be used to store information about the tested application's objects. If your tested application contains many objects, such memory usage may be normal.
It is also possible that you have several Open Applications running and they are not your tested applications - TestComplete may also consume some memory to store information about the applications. So, try using the "Open Applications | Process Filter" settings to make TestComplete ignore all Open Applications except for the tested one.
