WebComparison chkpoint fails most of the times even if there are no apparent changes in the web page that doesn't have any dynamic objects. It might get passed once and then the next moment it fails(especially when I or the tool close the browser/page and open it again).I can not make out why.
And if the web page has dynamic objects, then it doesn't seem to work at all(I have increased the timeout period). How will TC compare the web page when the dynamic objects keep changing even if the page and it's objects are fully loaded?
Please clarify your scenario. What parameters do you need to verify on a web page? What is the aim of your test?
To help us investigate the situation, please zip the entire project suite folder along with the test execution logs and send us the archive. It would be very helpful if you provided us with access to the web page you are testing.
Actually I'am in the learning stage and trying out different features of TC one by one.I'am referring TestComplete7.pdf.
I was learning web comparison CPs,just tried the web comparison CP available in the menu bar(without recording).I selected the mode option 'Compare entire page' and then I selected the 'www.google.com' page as the page to be compared. And I executed the test script (without closing the browser and page )after pasting the generated code.I executed the test many times and say it failed 8 out of 10 times. It fails especially when I close the browser and open it again. No apparent changes in the site ,at least the GUI part
The google.com page contains dynamically changing links. As the links differs from load to load, the comparison with the "Compare entire page" option enabled fails. You need to use the "Compare only specified tags" comparison option and check the "Images" and "Input elements" tags to be compared. See the "Web Comparison Checkpoint Parameters" help topic for details.
