Hi I have created a regions object in which the current date and time is displayed (by default)
However, when I execute this checkpoint, it fails, because the date/time have changed!
I need to be able to ignore these 2 fileds in the checkpoint, so when its executed, TestComplete IGNORES these 2 fields.
Please see attachment.
How is this possible?
Anyone done anything like this before?
I dont know how this would be possible in TC.
I have used TestPartner and it was very easily doen i.e. to draw a rectangle around an image (within an image) syou would like to ignore! - how can this be done in TestComplete7?
You can exclude some pixels if you compare images by mask, using the Transparent parameter. Please see the "Comparing and Finding Images - Specific Tasks" and "Regions.Compare" help topics for more information.
I have edited the image to ignore th areas that I am not interested in. i.e. Date/Time fields. - I did this by following the instructions on the "Comparing and Finding Images - Specific Tasks" Help Topic.
I saved this file as a second image - i have the baseline iamge too.
However, the thing is how can i use the Transparent operation in a keyword test. I understand this is possible in a script (also the regions.compare methods etc) but how can i compare or see the difference between these 2 images in a keyword test? The Help Topic is not detailed enough to explain this. Thanks Allen. (See the two images attached)
