    TestComplet 7 - support for dotNET Functions

    We just migrated to TC7 from TC6 and we are having this wierd problem:

    we are trying to hold test from rnning while the application is in a non-responsive state,
    we are using this code:

    Function IsProcessResponding(p)
    Dim process
    Set process = dotNET.System_Diagnostics.Process.GetProcessById(p .ProcessID)
    IsProcessResponding = process.Responding
    End Function

    We have 2 problems:
    1. in TC6 there was a property called ProcessID for a process but now a process has the Id property... how come?!?!?should I just change it...?

    2. this is the bigger problem:
    when we are executing the dotNET line, we get an exception - "Object doesn't support this property or method: 'dotNET.System_Diagnostics.Process'"
    So i've inspected the 'dotNET.System_Diagnostics' object, and it seams that it doesn't have the Process property...

    important to say that we are using the same system.dll file for both TC6 and TC7 (Framework\v2.0.50727)...
    On TC6 it works fine, but on TC7 not...

    Why is that... what should we do?!?!?

    Thanks to all helpers, Raz

    Try using your AppDomain for the process you are testing against.

    <font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
    function IsProcessResponding(p)
    {
    var process;
    process = Sys["Process"]("MyApp")["AppDomain"]("MyApp.exe")["dotNET"]["System_Diagnostics"]["Process"]["GetProcessById"](p.ProcessID);

    return process.Responding;
    }
    </pre><hr />

    The ProcessID property is hidden. To see the property, you need to enable the 'Show Hidden Properties' option (Tools | Options | Engines | General).

    Thank you for reporting the problem. We are working on the issue. As a workaround, you can try removing all the assemblies from the List of Selected Components (right-click your project in Project Explorer | Edit | Properties | CLR Bridge) and adding them to the list once again after that.

    I hope this helps.

    Re: TestComplet 7 - support for dotNET Functions

    Hello ,

    Could anyone guide me out how to automate content mapping on website using shell scripts.

    What i did was I tried to search the text using 'grep' but to vain it resulted me with matches inside the html code, whereas I want to perform same search on web content rather than code.

    Is there any way to handle out.

    I don't want to use any of the automation tool for the purpose.

    Please let me know if anyone have any suggestion on it ASAP.

    Regards

    Re: TestComplet 7 - support for dotNET Functions

    The ProcessID issue was solved, Thanks....

    The DotNET issue still happens...
    removing &amp; reAdding the system.dll file does not work....

    why is this happening?
    if i'll use a different framework version will it work?

    Thanks,
    Raz

    Hi All,

    To Raz: we have already replied to you via e-mail. Let's continue our investigations in this way.

    This forum is devoted to AutomatedQA's TestComplete. Other questions are not discussed here. As far as I can see, your problem is not related to TestComplete. If you have any questions regarding TC, please start a new thread as the problem discussed here has nothing in common with your question.
    Best regards,
