I am new to test complete and still learning how to set things set up. My AUT is a web application and in a lot of cases I need to run multiple instances of the firefox in order to effectively test the application features. I do this by using firefox's ability to have multiple instances open at the same time with different users logged in. On the command line I jsut do "firefox -no-remote -P userX". The question is: Is there a way to set this up on the Test Complete such that on the tested application I could have different fifefox applications. I tried it but was not successful.
Thanks for any help.
Re: Multiple Instances of Firefox on Test Complete
You can create a file (for example, an Excel sheet) and specify all of the command-line variants for the browser there. This will allow you to retrieve command lines one by one from the Excel sheet and use them in the script to launch the page in the proper way.
You can use the following code to execute a command line:
<font class="small">Code:</font><hr /><pre>
var WSHShell = new ActiveXObject("WScript.Shell");
where "---command---" is a string value indicating the command line you want to run.
