Anyone know of a simple to use, free windows app that will allow me to simulate a dial-up connection. Here is what I'm trying to accomplish. Our site has developed a skinny version of our site and users will automatically be redirected based on their connection. High-Bandwidth users get the full site and Low-Bandwidth users get the skinny version. Any help would be much appreciated.
Please note that this forum section is only for TestComplete.
TestComplete does not allow emulating bandwidth for functional web testing because, in this case, the tool just simulates user actions, for example, mouse clicks and keystrokes in the browser's window, and the browser, in its turn, uses your current network connection. However, TestComplete allows emulating the connection speed for load testing of web servers. If you are interested in this approach, please see the "Emulating Connection Speed" help topic to learn how to do this. Also, please see the "Checking Server Response" and "Load Testing Basics Tutorial" help topics for some general information on load testing with TestComplete.
