Finding buttons/links by other cells in a table
We have a .net 3.5 web based application where the results of data entry/query are displayed in tables. Within the table, there are multple cells that either contain a button, link or information about the record. For the cells with buttons or links, the only difference between them is their position (0,2; 1,3; etc) since the link/button name is the same. I need to find a specific row by looking at the values in multiple cells, then click a link or button in a different cell within that row. Can anyone point me to an example of how I could do this (jscript) or offer advice on the best practice for accomplishing this? It's been a long time since I scripted or did automated testing, but I'm back into it now and would really appriciate the help.
Re: Finding buttons/links by other cells in a table
In general, you need to iterate through cells by using the grid's native properties and methods. Once you've found the cell which contains the specified text, look at other cells in the same row and find the one which holds a button or a link. Once you've found it, you can perform a click.
It is difficult to say anything more specific without knowing what exact control you're using.
