Alright I've looked around on search in this forum for 2 hours now (including Google) and I still can't find what I'm looking for so I'm hoping to get some feedback from someone who knows exactly where to look. I'm new to QuickTest Professional and I've never tried to pass dynamic variables into a text box before.
I'm trying to automate a script that will auto log me in so that I can record some settings in the back-end.
Here's my script so far:
svURL = InputBox("Please Enter a URL")
svUsername = InputBox("Please Enter Login information for a Username")
'Navigate to the site you want to grab the admin menu from. 'Login and start collecting links
SystemUtil.Run "C:\Program Files\Internet Explorer\IEXPLORE.EXE","","C:\Documents and Settings","open"
Dim objWebEditCollection, objWebEditDescription
Set objWebEditDescription = Description.Create()
objWebEditDescription("micclass").Value = "WebEdit"
Set objWebEditCollection = Browser("Google").Page("Google").ChildObjects(objW ebEditDescription)
'Loop through the WebEdit objects found and display their value
For ix = 0 To objWebEditCollection.Count-1
Reporter.ReportEvent micPass, .GetROProperty("html id"), .GetROProperty("value")
svName = .GetROProperty("name")
Now that script works properly in that it prompts you for the url, after inputting the url it will ask for a username...
I can successfully see the field that I want to change but I can't seem to find a snippit of script that will help me!
I've tried a couple things unsuccessfully such as .Set, .Type
Re: How to dynamically input a value into a text box
If you are asking about How to dynamically input a value into a text box in TestComplete, I will answer your question in my opinion.
1. I will list out all of tested data in to a txt file and import it to TestComplete (with the configuration file like that:
The data file you can input data like:
Case 1 Business
2. After that, you can use the code below in to your test function:
oObj.value = DDT.CurrentDriver.Value("searchData");
3. In the main function, you can use the code below:
