Creating gmail, yahoo, hotmail aol email client
I have a test case that will need to do the following:
1. compose an email
2. send an email
3. find a particular email(based on from, to, sent and subject)
4. read contents of an email that was received
5. verify contents of email
I need to do this for the following email servers:
My question is, can the CDO object be used to create clients for the 5 email servers listed above(ie outlookclient)?
Has anyone already done something similar to this?
I'm hoping i will not need to record mouse click operations to do this.
i am using Testcomplete 6.52
any help or suggestion you may have would be appreciated.
thanks in advance,
Re: Creating gmail, yahoo, hotmail aol email client
CDO is can connect into pop, imap, and Exchange server accounts. So most email accounts that Outlook can connect to is supported by CDO. I don't know if gmail, yahoo, or any of the other web based options you mentioned have publically available imap or pop interfaces. If they do, just use them like a normal pop/imap account.
As for the 5 actions above.. the answer is yes. But the finding part you'll have to loop through a list of headers and find the email in question, same with verification.
