Is there any way to have multiple test setups within one project? What I would like is to have one standard setup running all the quick automated tests (which will run more or less continuously) and then one extensive test setup running more time-consuming tests as well.
This is possible to setup by adding a new project to the project suite and then adding scripts from external files I guess - but in our solution it would be a lot cleaner and give us a better overview if it was possible to keep multiple test setups within one project.
What you're looking at is creating data driven or table driven tests where, dropping a new set of external files into a framework creates a new set of tests.
So, the answer is, yes. We do this in our environment. We've created a framework based upon a set of CSV files. Our code reads those CSV files and, based upon records found, executes tests. Change the CSVs and you have a new set of tests.
There are some examples in the help on setting up DDT testing. Check those out and see if they help
