Oracle Financials testing
I am looking into whether we can run any automated tests on Oracle Financials to cover key importing tasks.
Has anyone any experience of this? It seems tricky as when you log in and make an initial selection from the menu list, Oracle then fires up one more instance of IE7 that you cant close (or use), and a Java screen. The Java screen is the one I now need to work with, ignoring the other two until I want to log out.
I have to work out how to generically focus on the correct session - all 3 start with 'Oracle Financials', but the Java one contains the database name. I want to use the script on different databases (as the name/location of the test db does alter), so dont want to rely on using the hardcoded db name.
I then also need to test running concurrent jobs and checking the run statuses for a pass or fail. This may involve opening up the log file from within the application to validate the number of invoices processed etc.
If anyone has tested Oracle Financials and can help, I would appreciate it.

You can try using the Find method (see the "Find Method" help topic) to distinguish among the running instances. If they have unique child objects, which are not present in other ones, this should work.
