Has anyone tried getting their automation results into Testopia automatically via the Testopia web API?
I am playing around with it. I already have my own custom reporting functions in Test Complete, so I am modifying them to call small Perl programs that call the Testopia web API to create test cases, add cases to test runs, update results, etc. within Testopia. (Using Perl - a language which I despise - 'cos it has a degree of support by the Bugzilla/Testopia developers).
I would really like to hear from anyone else who has tried this, or anything similar.
I made something like you for automatically saving results into HP/Mercury Quality Center (MQC) from Silktest and TestComplete. MQC has API via COM, so I used this API.
Problem was with Silktest, that can't work with COM (only dll with set of functions), so I used VBScript as mediator between Silktest and MQC. Everything was working without any problems.
With TestComplete, I translated that script onto DelphiScript and a little bit updated it. It was easy because TestComplete can access to the COM objects.
As a result, I could monitor script's runs in real time via MQC!
