I have only recently began to use TestComplete and I'm trying to automate a script where I have to enter contact data into a web site, and then check that this data that has automatically been imported into our contact management system (that just so happens to be a web based application).
This script is not checking the field format, labels etc, it is purely checking that the data input in one field, now appears exactly in a seperate web based application.
What I would do is make the data you are entering into the website some sort of constant or record or something and persisting that at a larger scope than the routine that does the data entry. You would then go to the contact management system and compare on screen values with the same data records and make sure everything is the same.
This is a prime case for data driven testing. The data is in a record containing name, address, etc. You use the data record for data input, then use the same data record for data verification.
