Can somebody please tell me what to do in a scenario like this-
I have to write a automated script in testcomplete which would scan a pdf file for a one particular keyword in the entire file and also gives the total no. of occurences of that keyword in a file.
Also, how do I check for Images/pictures in the same pdf file?
Re: Scanning a PDF file using automation in testcomp
You cannot read the contents of a PDF file with TestComplete without any external tools as PDF is a closed format. However, there are several ways to read data from a PDF file opened in Adobe Acrobat Reader in TestComplete. For example, you can use the MSAA plug-in to get text or use the OCR plug-in. Please visit our newsgroups and the SQAforums portal for more information.
Please refer to the "Testing With Microsoft Active Accessibility" help topic to learn how to use the MSAA plug-in. To learn how to use the OCR plug-in, see the "Optical Character Recognition - Overview" help topic.
