Here is what I would like to be able to do:
1. Cetegorise Test Items by using the "Description" field to hold metadata such as Priority.
2. Dynamically generate a list of Test Items to execute based on the metadata stored in the "Description" field.
3. Execute those tests.
More practically this is what I'm driving at:
1. My project suite contains various tests. Each test has two properties: component and priority.
2. For one test run I may want to run all Priority 2 tests for Component1. For another run all Priority 1 tests for Component1.
I would rather dynamically generate and execute the set of tests that match my criteria rather than having to manually code a separate test function for each possible combination.
At the moment I am able to generate a list of test items that match my criteria, but I am not able to execute the test items programmatically. (I use Project.TestItems.TestItem() to query the test items).
Is what I'm trying to do possible? Obvious? Too much effort? Any assistance is greatly appreciated.
