How to maintain a test when the wsdl file is modified every week?
i have a project in soapui with a url for wsdl file.
i have several tests in my project say for example:
test1 = basic_login which is pointing to a method in the wsdl file with two parameters like username and password.
This test1 is working very well.
Imagine one day, the developer team decides to modify the login method and they added a third parameter like context.
When i run my test1 , it will fail, that's ok
So i update my project and then i can see the new parameter in login method and then all fields for username and password are empty.
why all filed are empty each time we update the wsdl file?
is there a way to conserve test1 with old wsdl file and then create another test1.1 with the same wsdl file updated?
I hope to be clear.
The answer from soapui is, we cannot use soapui when wsdl are modified everyday.
it works for a stable app not during dev.
I haven't used SOAP UI in years, so what I'm saying might be out of date or completely wrong.
From what you are saying, it seems like the developer only added another attribute/field. And you're right, you shouldn't have to rewrite your test for that.
I think there should be an action for you to update a wsdl vs reprocessing the whole thing. I think their refactoring fuctionality is what you're looking for.
