Thanks a lot for the reply.
Infact we are planning to buy testing tools for our company(small sized) and we have shortlisted a few testing products from HP(load runner) and cumpuware(QA load).I would like to know
1) which one is better pricewise as well as performance wise.
2) whether QA load supports c# as the application is written in c# and the database is sequel server 2000
1. Performance wise, they are about the same. Pricewise, in my experience, Compuware is generally more willing to deal.
2. The language the app is written in is of no consequence. It is the middleware that is important. The important question is what protocol does the app use to communicate: HTML, Winsock, Oracle Forms, etc.
I would suggest that you perform a proof of concept. Have them come in, install QALoad (or LoadRunner) and have them run against YOUR app in YOUR environment. You will know in two shakes if the tool is going to work for you.
Thanks a lot for the suggestion.
Since the project is in the initial stage, the architect is yet to decide upon the middleware and it could be .Net remoting or Web services.Do you have nay idea whether QA Load supports this or not?
One late addition - Just check installation - I guess the Mercury nee HP folks' tools are easy to install and configure, but Compuware might have some issues - just ask them to do an installation and as suggest do a PoC for some (chose a small but typical) scenario.
