After using Snag it on a trial, I am looking at other tools.
Which ones can you recommend.
I wish to capture whole or parts of a screen for evidence.
Looking in the direction of Screen Rip 32 at the moment..
What about SnagIt did you not like? Which additional features are you looking for?

If you are looking at ScreenRip 32 my guess is that you are after a free tool, jing is quite good but does not have the functionality of a paid for snagit or bb test assistant.
That's what I always found too. You more or less get what you pay for when it comes to these tools. I've always come back to alt-prtsrcn - mspaint. For movies, you'll probably want to pay for whatever feature you value the most.

SnagIt is so cheap it's practically free ($20 a license for a bundle of 10).
It's all relative. There's a number of free ones out there and also others similarly priced. ($40 for one copy)
Hope this helps.
I forgot to mention jing too (it's the free snagit from those folks).
I use Screen Rip32
