I am looking at coming up with a standard template for comparing test automation tools. Has anyone come across such a document. Or what are the key attributes that I can use as a basis for comparing automation tools.
I also want to use that template to come with a score card which can be used to rate an indivual automation tool after evaluation. so what I want here are important metrics or key features that determine the effectiveness of an automation tool. Please help with specific information.
Ditto Shane's comments. Terry Howarth's new paper is excellent and perfect timing at that. And Elfriede Dustin is one of my favorites so...
I also suggest looking at the comparisons that are out there already...many on the tool's own web site. There's a bunch comparing two tools and some that compare more. And many times the tool's web site will have a checklist of features to compare. Also wikipedia has some good stuff.
