    Re: Database Testing

Well many tool will have this kind of a functionality....They will have the driver API to connect to the database.....Tools like Winrunner,TestComplete,Silk.....has this functionality.

Well in one of the project with TestComplete we used to connect to the database using an ActiveX object and then we used to query the database and get the output in an output file which was then compared with the expect file (which was created in the first run).
    Test 2 Break!!!!

Would anyone know of any reliable open-source tools that allow you to connect to databases (eg oracle)?

    Connection Object

    Hi,

We generally use CreateObject(Servername.Typename) to create an automation object.

    For example - set objXYZ = CreateObject(QTP.Application)

Now, my doubt is, how would we get to know the Servername and the Typename which are to be passed as arguments to the method ??
