Looking for Windows Script for comparing CSV files
I wrote one for Unix a while back, and I've searched for one on the net, but found nothing quite like what I want.
My tool would parse the csv file and compare the fields. It knew the field names and what were "new" fields and should be left out of the comparison. It new the names of all the fields and would print a summary report of the differences. It could also report details of the differences in a summary formation, or the complete difference log.
Anyone? I want this to be a command line/batch script for easy automation. A gui tool won't work. Seems like this would be common and not hard to find some code. Maybe my search terms need some help. I'll post if/when I find something. I guess I'll be converting it myself if I don't find anything. And then sell it and make millions! Ya, that's the ticket.

If you do write this up yourself, you might take a look at DosTips.com for WinXP . I have found it very useful. Also, don't forget how powerful the for command can be in DOS batch scripts. It makes parsing through a csv file a breeze.
