I finally think I can convince the management to look into setting up a automated test framework... but they have already rebuked the idea of the cost of contemporary commercial automated test platforms.
(especially expensive here in Japan!!)
I have considered the trials of the various packages but
perhaps that wont be good enough to carry us through to our next release...
If I could get the program on the ground and show some results for one release cycle then that would put me in firm footing to bring on a mid-level automated test platform.
I am sure someone here has had a similar experience. If you could offer me a recommendation of even how to piecemeal something together I would love you forever and perhaps even send you some green tea!!
so are you asking for freeware alternatives to the HP/Mercury tool sets, or asking something different? I am a bit confused.
If you are looking for testing alternatives, there have been more than a couple of questions about the same thing in the forum you might be able to search and see what the outcome was of the previously posed questions.
Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results
I am currently working with AutoIt.
I dont have exerience in programming but it is basic and therefore doesnt seem insurmountable.
I am having trouble doing more than point click, and output when it fails... If anyone has hints about this please let me know!
