I tried searching for the info I need but could not find it.
Our company is looking into buying an Automated Functional testing tool and a Load/Performance testing tool. Are there clear advantages to purchasing both from the same vendor? i.e. Mercury QTP and Mercury LoadRunner. I know the vendor might give us a discount but I was wondering if there were any other advantages besides price.
I realize that this all depends on what my company's requirments are but I was just wondering if there are any general rules of thumb?
Re: Is it better to purchase both from same vendor?
One plus to purchasing multiple tools from the same vendor is that advantage (if it exists) where one tool can be leveraged with the other.
Doesn't always prove to be the case, but if can invest in a suite of tools where the functional testing can follow over to the performance side of things, while fitting into the tracking application to monitor testing against requirements it will hopefully allow a streamlined workflow
