Generic test tools
I have some expereince in telecom testing with TCL (6 years back)And experiencein telecom design in C, C++ some java.
But I would like to get back to test. As the new city we moved to, Austin Texas does not have software Telecom jobs.
PLEASE advise me on generic test tools that many companies might use. Around here there are more semiconductor companies. What would be the best tools to learn for this industry to get back into being a software Quality Engineer/Reliability engineer ?
I do not have any contacts in companies around. And I am soley relying on responses I get to start learning test tools.
Thanks very much
Re: Generic test tools
Well there's plenty of free tools available to tinker with, and functional downloads of the more expenseive tools.
You can do a search on testing tools and get back a whole truckload of ones to start looking at.
The industry leader (by sheer #s) appears to be Mercury products. My employer uses the Rational toolset. Silktest, Compuware, and many others also have good toolsets.
Hope this helps!
