I am thinking about using winrunner on some projects of mine, but the cost is quite prohibitive for me. Can anyone give me some advice on whether there are similar tools in the open source community? Thanks for your time!
You won't find the workability of open source tools as good as commercial tools. QFT(Quality First Tool), a tool to automate java applications, costs around
Rs75 K. Has almost all the features that you find in expensive tools. To add to that, it uses Python for scripting.
I agree with Corey there are some excellent opensource tools out there that are as workable, in a given context, as commercial/ vendorscript tools. Why at a WOPR conference this week, held at the googleplex in CA, we even managed some success on driving AJAX applications with WATIR.
