I am an intern at a small company in Sydney. I have been given the task of finding an automated solution for a number of GUI test cases that the company does on a windows based application they have developed.
The company has a max budget of about $800(US). I have trialled TestComplete, and it seems pretty good in terms of GUI test automation and price. However, Iíd like to know if you could suggest some tools that are within my budget and are good for GUI testing.
I have searched through this forum but I couldnít find what I wanted, so if this question has been posted elsewhere, Iím sorry.
I doubt that the question has been asked with the budgetary restraints which you are shackled with! $800 won't buy you a good test tool anywhere, except maybe one to test the chlorine content in your swimming pool. But, if that is what you have, so be it. I would suggest that there are several open source, (free) tools on the web, and I'm sure that someone here can recommend one or two. Then spend the budget on training to get up to speed on the tool itself. That's what I would do.
Success is the ability to go from one failure to another with no loss of enthusiasm.

That would be the best way to go.A tool purchased with $800, wouldnt be any better than an Open source tool. So, Look for a Open source tool and save the money for your party - (Or better donate some money to the open source tool makers.)
