Evaluating Quick Test Pro 8.0
I am trying to evaluate Quick Test Pro 8.0, and compare it to Win Runner 7.6 which I am currently using for testing web based application. Web test capabilities of both tools seem pretty much the same to me. Is it worthy to switch to Quick Test? Is it really more advanced tool than WR? Currently, my scripts are "custom made", I couldn't use Win Runner playback due to multiple web dialogs, that were not recognized on run, and dynamic properties of GUI objects. No checkpoints were working on playback either, so I had to write my own functions for verification points. I will appreciate feedback from the person who used both tools and who can point some common problems using Quick Test testing web.
Re: Evaluating Quick Test Pro 8.0
All that I can advise you is to take a long detailed look at what you have to go through to maintain the object repository in QTP compared to the GUI map in WR. Maintaining change is a different ball of wax. Especially note what happens when an object changes or is added.
