The information I have found on Data Driven Automation seems to be fairly old. (Example: http://www.sqa-test.com/w_paper1.html) Have there been any new advances in this direction or do the old methodologies still apply?
Probably the most interesting and up to date I have seen recently was on the IBM DeveloperWorks >Rational site where someone explicitly laid out how they set up and deployed Carl Nagles framework (quote: "Rational Robot Automation Framework Support (RRAFS), initially developed by Carl Nagle for the SAS Institute, is one of the most popular data/keyword-driven test automation frameworks available today.").
That should give you some idea of whether they are applying the old methodologies or something new.
