    Hell a Problem

    Hi All,

    We have a problem, We are testing a web based application using Winrunner, the problem is that Winrunner is able to understand all the objects we click, but in my application we have something like this, when we place cursor on a particular link without clicking it other links will come up and when we click the new link that come up winrunner is not able to capture.... can anyone please try to solve this, I have even tried it using QTP same is the scenario.... Waiting for UR reply...

    Have you used GUI-Spy? How that object is identified by Winrunner?

    I have not tried it on winrunner, but QTP is identifying it like a webelement when i use GUI spy but it is not able to identify it when I record the tests

    this thread should probably be in the WinRunner forum.

    try coding a "mousehover" (or the mercury equivalent) over the hyperlink before performing a click. The "mousehover" will bring the correct link into focus so that your automation tool can see it to click it.

    I know in QTP you can use the FireEvent method of the web element object to simulate a 'onclick', 'mouseover', etc. Refer to the QTP help for further info.

    I also know there is an equivalent WinRunner function, although i can't remember the exact syntax.
