I am currently doing manual testing at our organization. I wish to learn automated testing tools. But I am confused as to should I go in for learning Rational Testing Tool or Mercury Testing Tool. Can someone please help me with this?
I'd usually suggest you doing a quick search here but for this particular topic I recollect a thread in the past titled Mercury Vs Rational or something like it.
This thread went into great depths to highlight the pros and cons of each.
That should be of some direct help to you. But do not forget one very important thing as Scott has already mentioned, which is realizing your specific requirements and then selecting a tool that fits one.
One other question, when you say you want to learn the tools, are you going to buy out the tools or take some kind of courses for the same ?
Life, that dares send, A challenge to his end,
And when it comes say, Welcome friend.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial, Helvetica">thanks a lot.....i wish to opt for a course for the testing tool....my basic requirement is that at our organization, we are not using any automated testing tools..........for better job opportunities and a bright career, I wish to learn automated tool....i would really appreciate it if you could help me in this regard........
Learning a tool is going to be theoretical at best if you are not using it. You really need to get your hands on an automation tool and an application to point it at. You could go to a class, memorize the user manuals, function lists, and all the knowledge base articles that exist.... but you still won't really understand it's quirks, how to best utilize it, and how to maximize it's usage.
