EDI Gateway Testing
Hi- I'm new to automated testing. We are attempting to create scripts for our EDI Gateway. This gateway does not have a traditional GUI look, but is just XML/x12 posted to a servlet. Any tips on what we can do? We are using Quick Test 5.6 and 6.0. Thanks.
Re: EDI Gateway Testing
Not sure how much $ you are willing to invest in a tool, I've been involved in a recent project that utilized Segue's SilkPerformer testing tool to drive load at an EDI translation and routing engine application. Much of the app under test is 'non-gui'...meaning edi documents are sent to the edi engine via a number of supported protocols (e.g. Smtp, Ftp, Pop3, Http, X400, AS2...mostly Tcp/Ip based protocols). Out of the box it was pretty 'cake' to route/receive messages via smtp/ftp/pop3/http. Let me know if you have more specific questions...
