What to do?
I am kind of new to automation, but not new to programming. I have taken over another persons scripts, and put in charge of running and maintaining them. I am using QA Run.
I have nothing but problem after problem. One part of the script will run fine 8 times and the 9th it breaks, then the 10th-15th it will work with no changes. Continuous object attach errors. We use the same data every time. We have a well designed object map. Sometimes it can connect to an object sometimes it can't. Contiuous QA Run lockups. (We do not use the record button for any develpment.)
I am not whining ...but I have used a few different development tools, and never seen anything like this.
1. Does anyone else have these problems using QA Run?
2. What is the general opinion of testers who have used QA Run? One person told me all these problems are common with QA Run. Is that true?
Please understand I have not ruled out user error or the possibility the scripts are junk. However they were written by a highly respected programmer, and the one person here who knows anything about QA Run, said I was setup for failure when I took the position....just because of QA Run.
Does anyone have any input on this?
Re: What to do?
I actually (unfortunatelly) have not got a clue as to the answer, but I'd suggest you go down to the QARun -forum (further down, below testing tools). There you should be able to receive a good response as they are specifically into your tool.
Best of luck
