It is not simply a choice of these two comapanies. Come on! There is a plethora of good tools out there. What is it you *actually* want to test, jerc75? This would be a good starting point. I have used a number of different tools, those from the big guys (and that includes Segue, of course) and various freeware and shareware tools. More detail from you would be helpful to make feedback more useful, rather than just getting personal preference.
I agree. Comparison between tools is only meaningful if it is contextualized. I have *plenty* of opinions on both Rational and Compuware tools ... but am not about to express them without knowing what you want to do with these tools. Can we get more info?

Anymore details? I have some good knowledge of all the major tools but as has been said already you need to be quite specific. You said Oracle. All the tools can test Oracle adequately. You said online processes you mean web based applications? Batches? What batches overnight batches on mainframe? Batch interfaces for two applications if so which? Etc, etc
