automation effort estimation - task involved
For any effort estimation the first thing to do is to arrive the list of tasks involved to the lowest level possible. can any one tell me what are such tasks we can consider in effort estimation of converting a manual test case ito a automated testcase.
Re: automation effort estimation - task involved
Divide and conquer.
Computer offer no more now than the did when first created: they are very fast and very accurate, however their major and most critical weakness is that they take everything literally and cannot readily adapt to unexpected change.
As far as what can be efficiently automated, target quantitative features that don't change much, that also require nth-degree detail with a high number of combinations and permutations. Human testers fails at these efforts because they lose focus and bore easily when faced with unending repetition.
Leave dynamic, qualitative issues such as first-pass tests, usability, attractiveness, and detecting corrupted presentation to the human testers.
