Hey there,

We are in the situation were we haven't been able to automate our web application that is flashed based for a few reasons, and at this point, after much effort, i'm convinced we are not going to be able to do any significant automation with the app this way. It has been come down from above that automation is now needed, and that we would consider switching to a combination of java and javascript to facilitate automation. I've been asked to see if other automation users have had success with java/javascript web apps, and specifically if things such as tabs and menu items can be recognized by the tools. So does anyone have an opinion on switching from Flash to allow automation?

If it helps we've been using or tried SilkTest 5.5, QuickTest Professional 5.6, and Rational Visual Test 6.5.
