I was just informed by my manager that I get to attend STAREAST in Orlando during May 13-17. This will be my first time. I have signed up for Linda Haye's tutorial from WorkSoft and Rex Black's managing test execution. Is there any other suggestions or recommendations on what to do from those that have attended before?
Re: STAREAST 2002
My suggestions for attendees of any conference...pick out seminars that actually interest you, that you have a point of reference so you feel comfortable with being able to understand what is being said, and finally ..ask questions and participate. As someone who has spoken at different conferences it always makes for a better seminar when the audience asks questions..even stumpers. Don't be too specific with your needs though. Also, have fun. Yeah, these things are for "networking" and it is business and the boss probably wants you to report on some things but if you don't understand the seminar-why sit in? So you can make up a bunch of BS or fake an answer? Figure out what's important to you before hand and then hopefully you'll get something out of it.
