Oracle Forms Web Deployment
We are in the process of automating our application that is being deployed on a web server with Oracle Forms as the frontend (GUI). We tried automating this application using Rational XDE Tester as well as Robot.
XDE does not recognise this application at all and Robot is not good enough either as it takes screen coordinates.
I would like to know if this application can be automated using XDE Tester and if someone had used it in the past.
Thanks in Advance,
Re: Oracle Forms Web Deployment
QARun recognizes OracleForms apps but we experienced some difficulty in reconizing all text that displayed in the app and needed to find workarounds for these. Synchronization of the scripts with the changes in the UI needed extra attention and workarounds as well.
SilkTest does a good job at recognition too once you have the tool configured to work with the Java Plug-In, but it gives a more technical view into the objects. There are some things that you need to write code to handle due to the way they create some of their custom objects. Some text might not be recognized and you end up having to work around those issues.
