Some systems have to be 'fed' with data from files (e.g. billing systems). Usually, production data are used in the testing. In such case, there is a problem, that the input data are unknown and therefore it's hard to define the expected result.
If you are using Excel spreadsheet to enter such test data. dadada may be the right tool for you. It's a simple text Interpreter running in a DOS window. Unfortunately, I didn't have the time to write a manual.
The idea of the tool: You define the data format in a template (includes all the test irrelevant data). Then the template can be re-use by filling the test data. It also allows you to assign values to meaningful variables. This will keep your test data readable.
