I think one of the easiest languages to learn now is VB - and it's cheap! I went out and bought "Step by Step VB 6.0 Professional" published by Microsoft for $39.99 and it included the disk for VB 6 and tons of examples and good instructions. Anyone else here can tell you that once you learn one language, learning others mostly just becomes a matter of using different function names as they are based on the same idea or construct principles. Good Luck!
I am very much new in this testing field/.. and doing manual testing..
I want to learn scripting.. if anyone can tell me the name of any good scripting software which is easy to learn
If you are talking about existing products to use for automated test scripting, then I can only suggest from my exposure. We utilise the Mercury Interactive suite of products and find WinRunner to be very beneficial for our and our customers requirements.
Having worked mainly with Rational products in the past(although I am presently evaluating Compuware and Mercury) I can say that their VB(like) language is reasonably easy to learn. I am also finding the scripting language of Mercury (c based) quite easy as well but then, having learned one language, another is "Just Another" language.
"if it works, leave it well alone....if it does not work......ditch it!"

- MS Word VBA macros,
- VBscript for WSH and/or ASP.
