full automation tool for newbie\'s?
The automation of software testing in The Netherlands (W-europe) is not as advanced yet as in the united states or Britain. In my company im trying to implement this as part of a teststrategy for our company.
In custom building we often use Visual Source Safe (VSS).I prefer to to manual testing, but would like to automate some elements as well.
I dont have a budget yet so if i should decide to use an automation tool i will have to beg for money... Can anybody advise as to the tools i can use in conjuction with the techniques and methodes mentioned above? i prefer "one tool for all".
Thank you in advance
Re: full automation tool for newbie\'s?
You probably have alot more automated testing tools on your desktop now than you probably realise. Since u don't have a budget, I'd suggest making best use of them.
Alot of people don't consider something as being automated unless it is done with their designated automated testing tool. That is an attitude that plays right into the hands of test tool vendors. For starters I'd consider anything that exposes a COM automation interface as an automated testing tool. There are plenty of free scripting languages available to glue them together. Make the most of them before mortgaging your budget to a test tool vendor.
