    Best tool for Java

I am ramping up for a new contract position testing an application that is mostly based in Java. I was wondering what others here felt was the best tool to use for automating Java testing.

    -Thanks

The best tools I've used for automated java testing are SilkTest and WinRunner There once used to be a SunTest JavaStar, but that was then

    Re: Best tool for Java

You can Also Try AQTest with the Java Plugin. http://www.automatedqa.com

They have a Evaluation version as well oon there Download page.

We have been evaluating it and are impressed with it's features and functionality.

    Just a suggestion.

    Re: Best tool for Java

Be advised that using an automated test tool with a Java app can be especially difficult.

Ex: A Java application JUI (Java User Interface) *can* have its objects all dervived from a single class. We had great trouble automating such an app because the entire automated script has to be based solely on mapped coordinates rather than individual objects, say as in like a native Windows app.

    Not very effective.

    Just a thought

There is a JTest forum here at www.qaforums.com - if you scroll further down.
There is also a Java testing forum (keep on scrolling).
Also take a look at www.ocsystems.com for another tool choice.
