I would also be interested feedback from e-test users, as to how e-test:
1)performs when testing web based applications
2)is when doing data driven testing using Oracle or MS SQL Server database backends
3)compares in cost to Mercury, Seque and Compuware product's
I a posting on the e-test forum but haven't received any replies...
We had Empirix in for a demo and POC (Proof of Concept). The demo, of course, ran great but during the POC, we tried to record and play back a typical scenario for our product. We logged in, opened a library, added a folder, added a doc to the folder and then deleted the folder and logged out. During replay, the docs were getting added to the wrong folder if the folder happened to move in the list. It was only able to identify the folder by position in the table. Then the incorrect folder may be deleted. The simple scenario became not so simple.
STAY AWAY FROM ETESTER!!! We have had the worst possbile experience with both eTester, eLoad, and RSW/Empirix itself. The company refuses to give us our money back. The tool has problems just replaying scripts from one build to the next where no changes occurred. When using VBA scripts, the tool crashes, corrupts files, and looses code!
