    Suggestion for automated test tool

    Hi

My company is developing a web application that opens up a fullscreen window using Shockwave and flash. The application is totally reliant on mouseclicking and it's hell to test due to the huge amount of repetitive mouseclicks.

Have you got any suggestion for a cheap automation tool to record onscreen mouseclicks that can be sequenced and repeated?

I am also interested if there are any demo versions of more costly programs that I can evaluate. I certainly don't need a huge program that can do everything in the first place so a demo should be fine to start with.

I am pretty fresh in automated testing and need som good input here..

    Thanks for your replies.
    \Greg

You could take a look at Ghost Mouse - info and download at: http://www.mrdo.com/1.html

It's a mouse event recorder which does "raw" capture/playback (i.e. without any knowledge of windows or objects just x,y coords).

EXTREMELY basic compared to even the most entry-level automated test tools, but may suit your requirements if you only want to record/playback repetitive tasks.

    Hope this helps,

Well, its pretty hard to beat the price of GhostMouse (Free!), but if you decide you need something with more features, but still don't need one of the expensive test tools, check out WinTask (www.wintask.com).

It's a terrific general automation tool that I use every day in my testing. And it's very reasonably priced.

    enjoy,
