Re: Rational Test Manager Vs. Test Director

Test Director is our company standard test management and defect tracking tool.

We just migrated from Test Director 6.03 to 7.0i. The new version is all web based. Even though it has some limitations but overall our project team members are happy with thr tool and consistent use it.

I don't know about the Rational Test Manager.

    Hope this help.

Well test manager does not have bug tracking capabilities you have to either have Clearquest TT or standard clearquest.
Test Manager has recently improved alot but I prefer Test Director cause it has more functionality (especially with the change/bug control).

The Test Force is strong in this one

Re: Rational Test Manager Vs. Test Director

    David,
Does Test Director's UI using standard web browsers?

My concern with this kind of test management
    sw's defect tracking feature is
we already have our own bug database,
I believe most companies already have their
    own bug database already.
Now, how can the bug tracking in Test Director sync with our bug database?

Re: Rational Test Manager Vs. Test Director

    very easily....

Testdirector leverages your current investment in test plans, defects, requirements by allowing you to:
    1. Import/Export in/out TestDirector from Excel, Word and more through its API
    2. Use its existing integration with either PVCS Tracker or ClearCase
    3. Create your own synch utility through its easy to use COM API
