    How to compare signals automatically

I'm not sure, if this is the right group to post, but I try ;-)

I have to compare two sampled (electric)signals automatically. I would need an algorithm or better a tool that generates one or some characteristic numbers to be compared.

Of course the signals do not match exactly, they can even have a different sampling rate.

    Any ideas, suggestions, etc.?

    Thanks and best regards,

    Michael

    Hi Michael,
Take a look at this company www.sotas.com. A friend of mine works there and he develops embedded software that does just that "compares two sampled signals automatically." They might also have some info/tools on how to generate those signals.
