Web vrs Client/Server testing difference
Attached is a PDF document describing what I believe are the differences between testing web applications and client/server applictions.
I would be interested if anyone has other issues which they think are significant on this topic.

Another thing is "burst" traffic on the Web. Solving performance models for "burstiness" is certainly a big thing in the world of Internet computing. (This is only one form of accounting for "peak periods" for certain sites, such as holiday times or promotional ads.)
I would also say the "heavy tailing" of file size distributions which is much different in the Web world then in the traditional client-server. (This has a lot to do with protocol overhead as well; also something you will probably not have to as great a degree with strict client-server.)
