Does anyone know anything about AutoTester...
Where does this software stand in comparison to other automated testers?
I haven't seen their latest version, but in earlier versions the record/play back was position dependent. It was fine for basic funtionality, but if you had to work with anything very complex it wasn't powerful enough. Scripting was somewhat weak.
I used one of Autotester's first efforts for NT (cna't remember the version as it was a while ago now sorry). I was responsible for a transition from Autotester for DOS to the NT version.
I'd have to say that I thought that the NT product was quite good but the transition effort was an absolute nightmare. These two versions cost us 4 months in transition effort.
These days I would definitely recommend one of WinRunner or Segue's SilkTest. Given that I am using it at the moment I would say that SilkTest shades WinRunner in most day to day situations.
