We are baselining automation metrics in my organisation. hence from your experience can you let me know the various metrics and the formula in each phase of automation in an waterfall model [Requirements, Estimation, Test Case Design, Test Case Execution , Post implementation] and Agile model.
Eg. Test Design Phase :- No of Test cases considered for Automation.

My experience has been automation mostly as a function of development and used dev metrics. Measurements I tend to care about is KLOC (Kilo-Lines of Operational Code), which is a measure of how much code I'm producing. And code churn (Ratio of added code to deleted existing code), a measure of efficiency. I also have through integration of automated tests to TCM (test case management), percent test cases automated. But this number is very skewed because I actively work hard to eliminate unneeded tests in order to ensure fast build cycles.
