AutoIT to automate BRowser toolbar (IE, FF)
I am using Selenium Webdriver.
I was able to handle IE popup windows with AutoIT script (called from Eclipse which runs selenium code) using WinWait etc.
I searched and could not find anything related to the above issue.
Can I automate IE and FF toolbars using AutoIt.
Tool bars means - how to click on - File, Open File, Edit,
If so,please advise.
Re: AutoIT to automate BRowser toolbar (IE, FF)
Those may or may not be easy to control with AutoIt. Try using keyboard shortcuts with AutoIt to automate those.
For example Alt+F brings up File menu, then press "O" key (see the underlined characters in the file menu) to open file, etc. Or just Ctrl+O to directly open file.
Open file brings up open file dialog and that you can easily automate with AutoIt, using control IDs for filename field and Open/Save button (though the button is better automated by send key ENTER).
But for all this, you have to make sure and bring focus to the browser window before executing sending keystrokes to browser.
You really should learn AutoIt to make use of these methods.
Or look into tools like Sikuli for a true GUI click / image based automation of navigating the file menu, etc.
